Your firefighters are a highly trained group of men and women dedicated to the Franklin community that are willing to risk it all.

Your Fire Department consist of Career, Part time and volunteer firefighters. There is one fire station that serves the Franklin Community located at 4th and Riley with talks of a second station being built in the future. Your fire station is staffed with five on duty personnel 24 hours a day seven days a week. If there is an emergency those five on duty immediately respond in the apparatus assigned by dispatch (FPD) and the volunteer firefighters respond in from their homes, work, family outings and other activities to supplement the other apparatus needed to handle the response. Without the volunteer firefighters the City of Franklin would not be able to provide the excellent service that is provided now.
Your firefighters also provide mutual aid assistance to the surrounding communities with also those communities in return provide assistance back. When your firefighters respond to structure fires automatic aid is used to supplement manpower to keep the job safe for you, your family and your firefighters.

Your Fire Explorers
The Fire Division currently has a fire explorer post that is sponsered by the boy scouts of america. It currently has 15 members. These member meet once a week and train at fire headquarters.
The fire explorer program helps the young men and women learn the fire service, learn the life of a firefighter and prepares them for the job the future. The fire explorers work daily side by side with the on duty firefighters and are part of the family. These young professionals work hard every day to be an example in the public and mentors to the other young people they are surrounded by.
