Your firefiighters put in numerous hours each year educating our children, elderly, and adults. Every year our pub ed specialist are working in the school system, daycares, private and local organizations making everyone aware of safety through numerous programs.

One of the programs that Lt. Kyle Lovelace implemented that had to get approval from the school system is called Risk watch. We beleive we are the first fire department in the state of Ohio that has taken the NFPA program to the level that it is at.

Currently the program reaches out to 1400 plus kids every year and designed to meet the teaching criteria for the state. This program start with grades K-8th grade. It is not uncommon to see one of our firefighters in the school any given day of the week working with our kids.

This program has proven in the past to be a huge success by saving one life. We are proud of our fire dept professionals for creating success in the program and creating a working relationship with the school district. If it wasnt for the decision of the school district and the fire administration our children would be unaware of the hazards they face everyday.
